Heat Recovery System: Heat Humper
One of the main struggles of heating a modern home is distributing heat evenly. Your family might be breaking a sweat in one room and shivering in the next room. Because of this, you may find yourself never wanting to leave the room with the fireplace and avoiding going to the bathroom or getting a snack.
But there is a way to use the excess capacity of your heat source to warm other rooms in your home. An average size lounge only requires 2-4 kw of heating yet any log burner can generate between 10-20 kw. That is five times the amount of heating required! And basic science teaches us that heat rises – so the air at ceiling level can reach an excess of 30°C!
This leaves 8-16 kw of heat that could be used to heat up to eight other rooms in your home. But instead it is being wasted. It is time to hump that heat to where it is needed!
Why should I hump heat?
- Humping heat…
- Improves energy efficiency
- Is easily installed*
- Is thermostat or speed controllable
- It reduces the risk of dampness
- Has a quiet yet powerful fan
- It can be installed in up to four rooms
- Has a low power consumption**
*We recommend using a registered electrician to wire the fan
**This only applies when using a standard three room model
