Cool Air help a lot of farmers in South Canterbury keep their cool – their milk, that is. We supply, install and service milk silo refrigeration, milk silos, water chill plants and heat recovery systems.
The Ministry for Primary Industries New Zealand has introduced new standards for milk cooling and they have applied to all farms since June 2018.
The rules state that raw milk must:
a) be cooled to 10°C or below within four hours of the commencement of milking; and
b) be cooled to 6°C or below within the sooner of:
i) six hours from the commencement of milking, or
ii) two hours from the completion of milking; and
c) be held at or below 6°C without freezing until collection or the next milking; and
d) must not exceed 10°C during subsequent milkings.
With the latest MPI Milk Silo regulations being enforced it is important for Farmers to ensure that they comply with the new MPI regulations.

We can almost always fit in a free on-farm assessment of your refrigeration equipment while we are out there. With a few tests, we can determine if your existing refrigeration system complies, and make recommendations for improvements if needed.
